'Uy' Netulh~ |Good Morning,  

Let us take a moment to acknowledge the caretaking and stewardship of this land in which we live and our role with Indigenous Peoples specifically the Hul'qumi'num and SENCOTEN speaking people. Let us acknowledge that this is their territory in which we get to take care of those we love, take care of ourselves, and take care of the land. May we learn from and alongside them on the importance of caring for Mother Earth.  

GISS Jr B and Grade 8 Girls host two teams from Brentwood in volleyball action after school. Come out and support your Scorpions! 

Senior Boys Soccer's first home game is today vs Wellington at Hydro Field with a 3:40 KO. Come out and support the team after school! 

For those of you who have not yet visited the Wellness room, and you are an Indigenous student, please come in anytime over the next two days. Indigenous youth worker Lisana would really like to meet you to tell you about the upcoming youth on the land and other In Ed opportunities, and fill out a form for this school year. We hope to meet with all of you by the end of the week! Thank you 

Attention Grade 12's - there will be a lunchtime information meeting with Tony and Nia for the LORAN AWARD and the TD Scholarship for Community Leadership on Thursday, Oct. 2nd at 12:40 in Room S115. 

GISS! Our annual Terry Fox Run is on Thursday! Let’s raise some money for cancer research! Starting today we are collecting tickets for a raffle. The prizes are: 

• 1st place: a flat of yerba 

• 2nd place: 8 yerbas 

• 3rd place: 4 yerbas 

Each ticket is 2 dollars, you can buy as many as you want in the Multi at lunch every day this week. The draw will be next Monday. Let’s not let Terry down this year, bring it on! 

Yearbooks on sale today at lunch. Buy your copy now and save $10! Yearbooks will be on sale on Tuesday and Thursdays throughout September.  

Please stay off the lower field, it has just been newly reseeded. Thank you in advance!
